The deliveries will comprise the towers and suspension systems, which can currently be seen on some sections of the railway network. After the mounting of towers and suspension systems, the overhead wires for the electrification will be set up.
Collaboration with Ib Andresen Industri is based on an agile set-up. Ib Andresen Industri serves as both a logistics centre and a production unit, which includes a brand-new robotic welder. In recent years, Ib Andresen Industri has been very successful in providing complex, total solutions to its customers, which, according to Søren Eriksen, Sales Manager, “is where we can make a difference in the market. It is also totally in keeping with our strategy that we want to stake our future on these total solutions where we help our customers with larger segments of their value chain.”
The logistics centre is an essential aspect of the collaboration, as this is where the hundreds of project items will be gathered and stocked. At the logistics centre, order-specific assembly kits will be packed on a daily basis, so that – along with the towers – Per Aarsleff A/S receives the exact number of suspension systems and associated components it needs for any given railway section.
It is definitely beneficial for the logistics and on-site delivery that Ib Andresen Industri is centrally located in Denmark, as towers and suspension systems can be conveyed on-site throughout the country in a short space of time. This is difficult for foreign competitors to compete with. The deliveries are made just in time, so that Per Aarsleff A/S can begin the assembly works during the time frame when Rail Net Denmark closes a track on the dual-track sections, where assembly will take place between 8 pm and 5 am.
The first stage is the 57-km-long section between Lunderskov and Esbjerg. This is where the first 1,600 out of the project’s 21,000 towers will be erected with the associated suspension systems.
Ib Andresen Industri does much more than process steel
“With this agreement, we demonstrate once again that we can do more than process steel on our machinery and equipment. Steel processing is definitely our key competence, but our logistics centre enables us to take on even more responsibility in relation to Per Aarsleff A/S’s wishes. Collaborating in this way consolidates our position as a supplier of value-creating steel solutions” states Søren Eriksen, Sales Manager.
Regarding the collaboration, Vagn Rahbek, Project Procurement Manager for Per Aarsleff A/S, adds: “There are many steel companies in Denmark, and the ones that excel are those who are innovative and invest in technology. But only a few are as quick on the draw in terms of investment and solutions as Ib Andresen Industri was for this project. We greatly respect this.”
