Whenever a passenger boards a light rail train in Aarhus, we will have had a hand in their journey. This is because the platforms will be manufactured in Langeskov, where our headquarters are situated.

Søren Eriksen, Sales Manager, Ib Andresen Industri, has this to say about the order: “We specialise in processing steel, so the Aarsleff Rail A/S project is perfect for us. We are thoroughly familiar with Aarsleff through our cooperation on the electrification of Denmark’s railway network. The fact that they have chosen us once again as their supplier implies profound recognition of our work.”

Aarsleff Rail A/S Senior Project Manager Per Brodersen comments on cooperation with Ib Andresen Industri: “Aarsleff has worked successfully with Ib Andresen Industri in the past. Their professional approach to our previous projects made a strong impression on us.”

44 stations need platforms

As the stations of the light rail system are not all built according to the same drawing, the platforms have to be adapted to the individual stations. With that in mind, the flexible manufacturing set-up at Ib Andresen Industri is a key element of the customised solution for Aarsleff Rail A/S. The solution also includes logistics and installation, as well as managing other external suppliers, to ensure that consignments are delivered as agreed.

Insofar as the overall solution is concerned, Søren Eriksen states: “Our market legitimacy is our ability to simplify complex projects for the customer. They need to be able to focus on their core task, while we take care of the rest: from ordering materials to on-time delivery.”

We have to process roughly 250 tonnes of steel for the job, which we will deliver during the spring, when Aarsleff Rail A/S has to install the platforms on site at the total of 44 stations.

When finished, the light rail system will be 110 km long.
